vtigerForge, an initiative to encourage vtiger community in developing additional modules/add-ons/extensions/language packs/docs based on the vtiger CRM project. I am pleased to inform you that, so far we have about ~1000 developers (including core developers) on the board developing about 100+ projects.
With the next Stable release of vtiger CRM 5.x.x series, i.e, v5.0.3, we are expecting more real-time deployments. At the same time we can expect many more challenging requirements from our business community. I am sure, some of the existing projects in vtigerForge will address some of the unique requirements of our business community. However, we may need to convert most of these existing Beta projects into Successful & Production-ready projects so that there will be value-addition to our business community while deploying vtiger CRM.
Down the road, we are also planning to introduce some incentives (PS: As of now it is just my personal thought) to the community actively participating in vtiger development. We would like to build a greater vtiger eco-system, in which both consumers (business users) and producers (developers) are benefited out of our Open Source initiative.
The logic is very simple, vtiger Business community has some unique needs –> vtiger developer community creates more valuable projects based on vtiger business community needs–> Business community deploy well tested projects and benefited out of these developments –> Business Community contribute their valuable resource in continuing the good work of the vtiger developer community, and the cycle continues in a closed-loop fashion.
I take this opportunity to request our vtigerForge community to take some time and update the existing projects with the latest v5.0.3 development code:
