Locking forum posts

Earlier we were locking the forum posts once the query was answered to so that we could move the Question and Answer to the wiki. Then we got messages saying that we are thwarting further discussion on those lines by locking the forum post. So we have stopped locking the posts.
I was thinking of having the forum for just that – being a place of discussion and idea-sharing. The Q & A can be moved to the Wiki and let that be the reference for all. This will enable the folks to get ready-made answers to their queries in the Wiki itself and they will not have to troll through the entire forums. How about removing the forum post altogether and just having the discussions in the forum ie let A post some query and if X answers it and we find it proper, we will move the post altogether to the Wiki. Further discussions can be held under the a new topic or something.

Gradually, the Wiki may become a book too 😉 who knows ?

What do you say?
