This is a very specific question I remember being asked. Interesting as it lets me tell about the way we work.
For me, my team is my pride. We have team dinners whenever we feel that the pressure is getting to us. There is NO set pattern. Yes, there might be some celebratory dinners but not too often.
The dinner is also a mechanism to pull everyone’s legs and get some camarederie in. I am more than willing to have ANY release postponed if that affects the team camaraderie. It is just not worth it.
A release is a reflection of the team’s co-ordination, psyche, culture and camaraderie. It needs cultivation. There are no quick fixes. At times, decisions are very very painful but they have to be done as that is the greater good.
It is much much easier to demand but very very difficult to request and understand.
