Munich is the only place in Germany where there is 100% official open source adoption! Way to go Munich!
I was told that even Steve Ballmer had to personally fly down to convince the folks to reconsider their decision and move to Microsoft but the deal could not come through. Thank God!
This is a very important precedent for open source.
Even in Paris, in Soisson, the Mayor had declared that he is going to make open source adoption a rule and anyone wanting to setup his office there is welcome to meet him and he will be happy to accomodate them. Good news again!
I am sure that the govts are opening up to open source as the scale of deployment of technology goes up. There simply is no need to pay tons of cash for the software, the customization, the maintenance, etc when the same can be done equally at the least or better in general by Open Source.
Viva Open Source!
